What You'll Do/Need

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer plays a significant role in the quality of our applications and is responsible for quality activities, automation scripting, analysis and tasks necessary for measuring and evaluating product quality and performance.

 

This person also plays an important role in quality for a project team and is responsible for improving the quality of their team’s applications and services by designing and implementing tests to exercise our

systems.

 

The individual in this role will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of our systems. Quality Engineers will interact with developers; business analysts; and systems, network and database engineers in project planning, development and testing.

 

Responsibilities 

 

  •  Act as the Quality Advocate for our applications
  • Focus on creating automated tests for our applications
  • Perform functional, regression, performance and other types of testing
  • Develop and maintain test scenarios, scripts and test plans
  • Detect software quality issues and report and track them to resolution
  • Participate in the testing of production emergency bug fixes
  • Develop and enhance automation test strategies, requirements, planning and procedures
  • Proactively develop innovative methods to constantly improve the quality process
  • Serve as a contact for input and interpretation of issues that impact product performance and system stability
  • Collaborate with your team to understand and validate configuration settings, to ensure optimal product performance, scalability and availability for production environments
  • Execute automation scripts as required for development and debugging efforts, to ensure quality and stability
  • Assist in post-implementation, continuous improvement efforts, to enhance systems and applications
  • Identify product performance issues during new product development
  • Stay committed to continually learning and staying current with new technologies and industry standards
  • Support and manage test case repositories and bug tracking

 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor of Science in computer science or equivalent
  • Three years’ experience with quality assurance and testing methodologies
  • Three years’ experience with web-based applications
  • Three years’ experience analyzing system and application failures and bugs
  • Three years’ experience in automated testing
  • Experience in test automation tools such as Selenium or Coded UI
  • Ability to create automated testing and implement scripting languages to support test automation
  • Comfortable working with various technologies, including XML, web services, .Net, SQL and C#
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC and the role of QA in the process
  • Experience with developing and implementing procedures for automated testing
  • Ability to write, debug and maintain test scripts
  • Comfortable with web servers, application servers, relational database technologies and network components
  • Ability to analyze logs and backend interactions
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in requirements and specifications reviews
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate concisely and clearly, and be willing to drive quality into the development process
  • Demonstrated initiative and drive
  • Proven team player with strong people skills
