What You'll Do/Need

At Quicken Loans, Employee Relations Specialists are tenacious masters of the HR craft and are culture drivers who set the pace for internal teams and external companies. Sure, we serve as a generalist for all teams, handle all the team relations issues and escalate as appropriate – but we’re so much more. As an Employee Relations Specialist you’ll deliver a superior experience by engaging team members through HR expertise and thoughtful communication. You will nurture our company’s culture – the foundation that drives our team members’ success.  


  • Be an advocate for team members, leaders and the company
  • Provide thoughtful advice and recommendations on all team member relations issues
  • Serve as a generalist for all HR teams and escalate to the appropriate specialist when necessary
  • Provide team relations support to team members and leaders
  • Volunteer for HR Onboarding events
  • Assist with written and verbal corrective action while tracking performance information
  • Conduct exit interviews and monitor trends
  • Perform instructor-led and computer-based training
  • Collaborate closely with Legal to ensure compliance and mitigation of business risk
  • Be a strategic business partner to the businesses you support
  • Provide valuable metrics that drive decisions made in the business
  • Ensure HR initiatives are aligned to business objectives
  • Actively participate in business leader meetings
  • Drive the culture of Quicken Loans


  • Bachelor's degree in business or human resources
  • Four years of general business experience, preferably in mortgage banking, sales support, or customer/client service
  • History and proven track record of experience in employee relations
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, InfoPath and SharePoint
  • Excellent telephone, strategic thinking, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines as assigned
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Possess tenacity and thoughtfulness
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • High level of confidentiality to handle sensitive/confidential situations and documentation
  • Ability to work in an environment with dynamic and ever-changing priorities
  • Ability to work in an environment that embraces feedback and provides it freely
