What You'll Do/Need

The Talent Development Instructional Designer works with subject matter experts to identify training needs and appropriate strategies for meeting those needs. They’ll analyze and design instructor-led courses and will create custom training materials, online training and experiential training courses.



  • Analyze training needs with subject matter experts and leaders
  • Consult leadership and recommend training when necessary to solve a development need
  • Identify and create measurable learning objectives
  • Determine the best activities to transfer learning in both e-learning and instructor-led courses
  • Utilize the ADDIE method and instructional design principles to ensure the quality and consistency of educational materials
  • Incorporate adult learning theory into the design of curricula
  • Write e-learning scripts in clear, concise, conversational and creative manner
  • Build computer-based trainings that meets team and organizational standards
  • Create facilitator guides, PowerPoint presentations and other materials for each instructor-led course
  • Audit training classes and provide feedback for improvement
  • Deliver content in a train-the-trainer manner for trainers and facilitators



  • A bachelor’s degree in instructional design, English, education, or other relevant field
  • One year of experience in instructional design or technical writing, specifically pertaining to e-learning
  • Experience in curriculum design, content development and training best practices
  • Understanding of training design principles and adult education concepts
  • Proficiency in Adobe Captivate and Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience in technical and creative writing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Complex problem-solving skills with ability to juggle tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • Receive feedback in a positive and solution-focused manner

What’ll Make You Special?

  • Master’s degree in instructional technology or design, or other relevant field
  • Leadership experience
  • Participation in previous leadership development programs
  • Experience with a learning management system
  • Proficiency in InDesign or Photoshop
  • Experience with script writing and/or voiceover work
  • Strong, highly developed interpersonal, collaboration, communication, organizational and presentation skills
  • Track record demonstrating ability to execute initiatives in a timely manner
  • Project management skills and experience in working on and delivering multiple initiatives
