The Team

The Events Team manages meeting and event services for clients in our fantastic and growing portfolio of spaces such as the Madison, QZine, and One Woodward. Clients hold corporate events, trainings, receptions, weddings, and more in our spaces. The goal is to provide the know-how and hustle needed to make every client’s event look amazing.


Job Summary

Manages meeting and event services within our fantastic and growing portfolio of event spaces, including: The Madison Building, QZine, One Woodward, One Campus Martius, First National Building, Chrysler House and more!  Our clients hold corporate, organizational trainings and civic meetings, weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and special events in our spaces.  We also facilitate meeting and event services in our spaces for teams and individuals within the Quicken Loans family of companies. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to event inquires in a timely manner daily via email and phone
  • Meet with potential clients to review available event spaces, discuss options for holding events in our spaces, and create client proposals
  • Assist clients with logistics and on-site execution of their events, including:
  • Coordinate meetings in our spaces with vendors
  • Offer vendor recommendations
  • Make vendors aware of venue guidelines
  • Create load-in/load-out schedule for events
  • Schedule security officers
  • Coordinate parking for guests and vendors on our clients behalf
  • Schedule A/V Tech’s as needed for events and sell AV rentals to clients
  • Create floor plans through the Social Tables program
  • Collect Certificates of Insurance from clients and vendors
  • Invoice/Contract clients and reconcile all costs relating to their event
  • Create an Event Resume for each event which includes all event details
  • On-site point of contact during events to make sure all with the venue is running as planned and to assist with on-site needs of the event
  • Assist with marketing initiatives for event spaces such as social media posts, updates to event listings on The Knot and Wedding Wire, taking photos of events to have on file, helping to create quarterly e-fliers to send to existing clients and more.


What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three-Five years of experience planning and executing events
  • Ability to introduce new ideas and foresee potential problems at events
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Communication and writing skills adapted to fit different styles (particularly with outside vendors)
  • High attention to detail and the ability to establish priorities
  • Ability to work within a budget and very tight timeline
  • Flexibility to work unusual, and often long hours including weekends
  • Dedication to the Bedrock mission in Detroit
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
