    What You'll Do/Need

    Team Summary:

    Our rapidly growing accounting team is an integral part of Bedrock, managing the day-to-day financial needs of the company. The team is responsible for reporting financial and other relevant information throughout the organization, as well as to lenders, investors, and regulatory/tax authorities. The team provides many services, ensuring our tenants are billed accurately and pay timely, and that our vendors and lenders are paid on time. Every month, our team processes over 4,000 vendor invoices, 2,000 vendor payments, and receives over 1,000 tenant payments. The team prepares financials or over 130 legal entities each month and manages over 20 audits each year. Accounting works closely with the Finance, Property Management and Construction Teams to set up budgets, monitor results, and ensure our properties and management companies are adequately funded.

     

    Position Summary:

    This position has responsibility for the preparation of monthly financial statements for commercial and residential properties and related entities.  Responsible for accurate processing of cash receipts such as rent (accounts receivable) and cash disbursements such as vendor payments (accounts payable) as well as other transactions. This position interacts daily with the Controller, Accounting Manager, the Accounting team, members of the Property Management team and other Bedrock team members.

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitors cash balance in bank along with preparation of cash positions upon request.  Notifies owner of account shortfalls, so that funding can be done.
    • Prepares monthly bank reconciliations
    • Prepares and/or posts complex journal entries required by GAAP
    • Ensures all charges are billed pursuant to terms of leases
    • Prepares and assembles financial reports for monthly operating reports
    • Assists in creation of annual property budgets
    • Assists auditors in annual review of controls and financial statements
    • Keep and update monthly workpapers
    • Prepare reserve requests for reimbursement from lender
    • Preparation of CAM estimates and annual reconciliations

    Position Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree, with a concentration in Finance or Accounting
    • 1-3 years of accounting experience
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written correspondence
    • Experience in commercial real estate accounting is preferred
